No sound with Generic Host win32 error Discussion in 'Hardware' started by macdudeosx, Sep 6, 2009. Yesterday when i did my windows (xp) update, they putted a fix for the problem related to the previous update.. Yesterday, I installed Internet Security 2006(norton).when I install this, restart, the sound is disabled...BUT, when I uninstall this, restart, the sound is enabled. I have noticed that i can get onto the mixer straight after startup but as soon as I get the generic host process eror message it no longer works untill I
