General Error 41 is usually displayed when trying to open a project file with a version of Final Cut that is lower than the version in which it was created. The reason it says "General Error" Is because the programmers were able to trap an error but they have NO IDEA where it came from. It is possible that a specific render file became corrupted. I didn't even think to update my software after I had reinstalled.
